Camden County Democrat nominated to CRDA board

From Press staff reportsATLANTIC CITY - A Democratic labor leader from Camden County will replace a Republican labor leader from Atlantic County on the board of the state Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.Frank Spencer, of Haddonfield, has been nominated to the authority's 17-member board by Gov. Jon S. Corzine, a Democrat. Pending confirmation by the state Senate, Spencer will take the seat held by Margate's Robert "Skip" Boyce, whose term expires this year, according to CRDA spokesman Robert Corrales.Boyce, first appointed to the CRDA in 1994 by then-Gov. Christie Whitman, a Republican, has been a leader of the carpenters union in Atlantic City for years. Spencer is Eastern District vice president for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters.Spencer formerly served as chairman of the South Jersey Transportation Authority, the state agency that operates the Atlantic City Expressway and Atlantic City International Airport.
